Vegetable wax candles burn longer, smoother and without the soot of beeswax and paraffin candles, not to mention there are no harmful solvents from petroleum based ingredients. Pure cotton wicks have no toxic lead or zinc traces when they burn, and these 9” tall tapers have a long burn time of 8-10 hours each. Note regarding the palm wax in these candles - there has been some concern over the harvesting of the palm wax and the plight of the orangutan native to Indonesia who has lost some of its home to deforestation. Aloha Bay has assured us that the palm wax that they use is harvested on plantations that are eco-friendly and do not contribute to this problem. Some other companies may still use clear-cutting which can damage the orangutan's habitat, and Aloha Bay refuses to use palm wax derived in this manner.
