Kittens (up to about 12 months old), queens, and lactating cats need Vegekit™. Its use is very similar to Vegecat™, but contains higher amounts of certain vitamins and minerals for growth. Recipes meet nutritional levels established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) Cat Food Nutrient Profile for feline growth, gestation, and lactation as well as adult maintenance. Vegekit™ is the only vegan food that is specifically designed to support growth, and is therefore recommended for kittens up until they are about a year of age. Vegekit™ recipes may include ingredients such as lentils, garbanzos, tofu, TVP, & yeast (we highly recommend VegeYeast as it is the healthiest for cats).
