Some cats are extra sensitive to the magnesium content in their diet, as well as to how acid or alkaline their urine is as a result of their diet. These cats are prone to feline lower urinary tract disease (formerly FUS). Struvite uroliths and urethral plugs can be life threatening and quick action must be taken.
